Mobile cat grooming: questions to ask before you book
SFL Pet Visits · 2026-11-02 · General information only — not veterinary advice.
Ask first whether the groomer grooms cats exclusively or as an add-on to dog grooming — the handling is genuinely different, and cat-focused groomers schedule quieter vans and shorter sessions. Ask whether dogs are ever groomed in the same van on the same route.
Then ask about drying (some cats tolerate only towel or low-air drying), whether sedation is ever used (reputable groomers do not sedate; that is a veterinarian's role), what happens if your cat becomes too stressed to continue, and whether lion cuts, baths, and nail caps are offered and at what published prices. Confirm the service area on their website actually names your city.
For a first appointment, book a simple service, be home, and judge the communication afterward: a good cat groomer will tell you honestly how your cat handled it and what they recommend next time.
